TNT enters Animal Kingdom

Turner-owned US cablenet TNT is moving ahead with dramas Animal Kingdom and Good Behavior for a 2016 release.

Both pilots have been picked up to series and will now join TNT’s stable of original scripted dramas including Alienist, Transporter: The Series, The Librarians, Major Crimes and Legends.

Family crime drama Animal Kingdom, from Warner Horizon Television and John Wells Productions, is based on the 2010 Australian movie of the same name and stars Hollywood actress Elin Barkin.

The series follows a 17-year-old who moves in with his relatives in their Southern California beach town after his mother dies of a heroin overdose

Meanwhile, Good Behaviour, which stars Downton Abbey actress Michelle Dockery, tells the story of a thief and a con artist fresh out of prison. The programme is based on the Letty Dobesh books by Blake Crouch.

Chad Hodge, who is not involved in the second season of Wayward Pines, is attached as showrunner. Executive producers are Marty Adelstein and Becky Clements of Tomorrow Studios, a partnership between ITV Studios and Marty Adelstein.

Both series are 10-episode orders.
