Tinopolis appoints Ramsay exec

Production and distribution group Tinopolis has appointed the chief creative officer from fellow UK prodco Studio Ramsay as its director of content.

Chris Brogden

Chris Brogden will work with Tinopolis’ production companies in the UK and US to develop a transatlantic production strategy and maximise opportunities in the international marketplace.

He will focus on factual entertainment and entertainment programming, working with distribution arm Passion to drive third-party format acquisitions and develop more collaboration with the group’s US companies.

The appointment follows the departure of previous director of content David Mortimer to STV in September last year.

Brogden had been chief creative officer at Studio Ramsay for the past two years and before that was creative director of entertainment at Tinopolis, responsible for the development of entertainment formats across the portfolio.

He was also an entertainment commissioner at Sky, where his credits included Wild Things, Coldplay: Ghost Stories and Relatively Clever.

Brogden will report to Tinopolis CEO Arwel Rees and takes up the role in January.

Arwel Rees described Brogden as “a fantastic collaborator who has an impressive track record of creating successful factual entertainment programming, both in the UK and the US.”

“Chris will be instrumental in further building on our strengths to make the most of opportunities internationally and in the UK,” Rees added.

The Tinopolis Group includes production companies Sunset+Vine, Mentorn Media, Firecracker, Pioneer, Tinopolis Cymru and the recently launched Thunderclap Media.

It is also home to drama producers Daybreak Pictures and Fiction Factory, as well as A Smith & Co and Magical Elves in the US.
