Tiger Woods doc teed up at HBO

US premium cablenet HBO has teamed up with Alex Gibney’s Jigsaw Productions to produce a two-part documentary following the rise, fall and comeback of golf star Tiger Woods.

Tiger is based on Jeff Benedict and Armen Keteyian’s bestselling book Tiger Woods. It will share insights into the golfer’s life, following his trajectory to global stardom as well as his fall from grace amid an infidelity scandal and eventual redemption.

The doc will feature never-before-seen footage and exclusive interviews with those closest to Woods, including figures at the centre of both his golf career and his personal life.

The doc is produced by HBO and Jigsaw Productions in association with Our Time Projects. Gibney, Keteyian and Benedict exec produce alongside Sam Pollard, Stacey Offman and Richard Perello. Matthew Heineman and Matthew Hamachek are directing the two-part title.

Part one of the series will premiere on December 13, with part two airing December 20, exclusively on HBO.
