Thunderbird goes with new CEO

Canadian prodco Thunderbird Entertainment has promoted an executive to CEO after its exec chair, Ivan Fecan, took up the role on an interim basis last September.

Jennifer Twiner McCarron

Jennifer Twiner McCarron will fill the top position at Thunderbird, effective immediately, while also continuing as CEO of Thunderbird subsidiary Atomic Cartoons.

The move comes after Twiner McCarron was named co-president at the same time Fecan was made interim CEO last year. This followed the appointment of Tim Gamble, Thunderbird’s previous CEO and co-founder, as vice-chair of the company’s board.

Twiner McCarron joined Atomic Cartoons as head of production in 2011 from fellow Vancouver-based animation firm Rainmaker Entertainment.

She became president in 2016 when the company was acquired by Thunderbird and was appointed co-president of Thunderbird alongside Great Pacific Media’s Mark Miller in 2017.

Miller now assumes the role of president of Thunderbird while continuing as CEO of Great Pacific Media.

Thunderbird, which has offices in LA, Toronto and London, recently worked on the film Blade Runner 2049 as well as Canadian comedy Kim’s Convenience and animated Netflix original Beat Bugs.
