Thorogood, who was senior VP of content and marketing at Scripps Networks UK and EMEA, has been made redundant and is expected to leave next month.

The news follows the departure of Jon Sichel, MD of content and marketing in the UK and EMEA, who is rejoining the Scripps team in the US as MD of global commercial affairs.

Phillip Luff was hired from Discovery Networks International as MD of Scripps Networks UK and EMEA in December and will now take over the responsibilities of both Thorogood and Sichel.

Thorogood, who joined Scripps Network in 2010 from BBC Commercial Agency, oversaw the broadcaster’s original commissions in the UK for Food Network and Travel Channel

He was responsible for show Including Shine TV’s Jonathan Phang’s Caribbean Cookbook and Andy Bates’ Street Feasts.

C21 understands that Thorogood is not immediately moving to another role but is looking to stay in the international channels business.

Prior to joining BBC Commercial Agency in 2008, Thorogood was Controller of Five Life and Five US, editor of ITV daytime and head of lifestyle channels at UKTV.
