The Split to give it another go on BBC

The Split

UK pubcaster the BBC has renewed legal drama series The Split, produced by Little Chick and Sister, for a third and final season.

The second season of the BBC1 show, which centres on a divorce lawyer who causes friction after leaving her family’s firm, ended 2020 as the third most-watched drama series on VoD platform BBC iPlayer, with 19 million streams.

Jane Featherstone, Lucy Dyke and Lucy Richer are the exec producers on the show, which stars Nicola Walker and Stephen Mangan.

AMC Networks-owned SundanceTV continues to hold exclusive rights to The Split in the US and will air S3 alongside copro partner the BBC. Streamer Sundance Now will also offer the new season.

Dan McDermott, president of original programming for AMC Networks, said: “With its incredible cast, addictive storytelling and insight into modern marriage, The Split has been extremely popular with SundanceTV and Sundance Now subscribers.”
