The Apartment heads to Vietnam

The Apartment will launch on HTV7 next month

Vietnam’s HTV7 channel is launching a local version of interior design series The Apartment.

The 15-part series will be coproduced by Asian prodco Imagine Group Entertainment and Dien Quan Media & Entertainment and will roll out next month.

The pan-Asian show sees contestants given a design challenge and assisted by mentoring from international celebrity designer Jamie Durie, with the results judged by design icon Laurence Llewelyn Bowen. After weekly eliminations, the last designer left wins a brand new apartment.

Riaz Mehta, president and founder of Imagine Group, said: “The Apartment has experienced huge growth in Asia Pacific over the last five years, where the viewership numbers have increased dramatically year-on-year and the format has become a household name.

“This is the first of many local versions of the show we envisage in the coming months, as we are in negotiations in several markets for the format. We anticipate that The Apartment will not only be an Asian success story but a format that redefines design television across the globe.”
