Thailand opens window for Viu

Viu, the OTT service from Hong Kong-based telecoms and media group PCCW, is launching in Thailand following a tie-up with local telco Advanced Info Service (AIS).

Korean and Japanese dramas and variety shows with Thai subtitles will be available to subscribers via Viu’s mobile app and website.

An ad-supported version of the service will allow free viewing of shows while a subscription offering will offer express content access and features such as unlimited downloads and HD video quality.

The deal means Viu is now available in 15 markets, including Hong Kong, Singapore, India, Indonesia, Egypt, Jordan and Saudi Arabia.
