TF1 to put on Filmax’s Red Band

French commercial broadcaster TF1 has commissioned a local adaptation of Spanish drama The Red Band Society.

The format will air on TF1 as Les Bracelets Rouges

The hospital drama, known as Polseres Vermelles in its homeland, where it airs on TV3, is being adapted for French audiences by Vema Productions.

The show’s creator, Filmax International, closed a deal with French distributor Ace Entertainment for the format rights.

A first season of six episodes, airing as Les Bracelets Rouges, is currently shooting with a cast led by singer and Dancing with the Stars contestant Camille Lou.

The original Spanish version previously aired on Numéro 23 in France and adaptations have aired on Vox in Germany as well as channels in Italy, Russia and Ukraine.

Fox in the US pulled its version, produced by Amblin TV and ABC Studios, after 10 episodes in 2014.
