TF1 gets into ITV’s Deep Water

Deep Water follows three mothers in England’s Lake District

French commercial broadcaster TF1 has picked up six-part thriller Deep Water which is set to premiere on ITV in the UK today.

Endemol Shine International distributes the drama, which is produced by Endemol Shine-owned Kudos and makes its UK debut at 21.00.

The 6×60’ series is set in England’s Lake District and follows three mothers with seemingly ordinary lives who each struggle with their own crises behind closed doors.

Rebecca Hodgson is producing the show with Karen Wilson, Diederick Santer and Anna Symon executive producing. The series is directed by Harry Wootliff and was adapted for TV by Anna Symon from the Windermere series of novels by author Paula Daly.

Sophie Leveaux, artistic director of acquisitions and international drama development at TF1, said: “We are pleased with the acquisition of Deep Water and will soon offer this series to TF1 viewers. Its production quality, its brilliant writing and its formidable cast will make Deep Water a great asset for TF1’s programming.”
