Tencent smells out Geronimo Stilton

Chinese VoD giant Tencent has acquired the first season of Italian animated series Geronimo Stilton.

The toon is based on the children’s book series of the same name and follows the adventures of a famous journalist mouse.

The distribution deal was brokered by show producer Atlantyca Entertainment (AE)’s Chinese distribution partner Pump Push Creative, said Alessandra Dematteis, AE’s distribution manager.

The two signed a distribution agreement for the show in China in December last year. More than 10 million copies of the Geronimo Stilton books have been sold in China, according to AE.
