Tencent puts Chickpea & Friends on menu

Chinese VoD platform Tencent has picked up animated preschool series Chickpea & Friends from Hoho Rights, the commercial arm of kids’ prodco Hoho Entertainment.

Chickpea & Friends has launched on Tencent

The Chickpea & Friends companion series of 12×10′ themed compilations, including songs, games and stories, has just launched on Tencent. The platform will premiere the first 13×5′ season this summer.

Written and developed by An Vrombaut (64 Zoo Lane), the show is based on animal characters from Welsh broadcaster S4C’s preschool strand Cyw. It is narrated by children and follows the adventures of Chickpea the chick and her six animal best friends who all live together in a big yellow house.

Chickpea & Friends was also recently acquired by Canadian safe streaming platform Kidoodle.TV.
