Televisa launches telenovela SVoD

Spanish broadcaster Atresmedia has joined forces with Mexico’s Televisa to launch a subscription service for its telenovelas as part of the Atresplayer OTT service.

Novelas Nova will be available for €1.50 (US$1.74) a month and will provide Televisa’s telenovelas without ads, including some titles that have never previously aired in Spain.

The service will launch with more than 5,000 hours of content, and viewers will be offered the first month as a free trial without commitment.

The initial line-up will include political drama La Candidata and romantic series Simplemente María among its Spanish premieres, as well as classic hits such as Alborada and Rubi.

Atresplayer offers viewing across PCs, smartphones, tablets and smart TVs.
