Telemundo tackles Mexico’s Exatlon

Mexico’s TV Azteca shops Exatlon

US Hispanic broadcaster Telemundo has ordered a local version of sports and reality survival competition format Exatlon.

The format, shopped by Mexico’s TV Azteca, sees two teams compete in different challenges that test their physical, mental and competitive skills.

The show is produced by Acunmedya, the Turkish prodco that created the format, and is slated to air later this year, with contestants from across the US set to feature.

“We are proud to add another truly global franchise to our reality programming,” said Luis Silberwasser, president of Telemundo, adding that audiences were eager for more entertainment formats.

“Exatlon is a great show for the entire family where viewers will enjoy an entertaining competition among contestants representing Hispanics from all over the United States.”
