Telemundo Global Studios will encompass Telemundo Studios, Telemundo International Studios and Telemundo International, plus all of the company’s coproduction partnerships.

Santana is currently president of both Telemundo International and Telemundo International Studios.

Each entity will continue to produce its own content targeted at different audiences, NBCUTE said.

Telemundo Studios produces an average of 800 hours of Spanish-language programming per year, including series such as El Señor de los Cielos, El Chema, Senora Acero and Mariposa de Barrio.

Telemundo International Studios was founded in 2016 to produce Spanish-language miniseries aimed at international markets and emerging platforms.

Telemundo Internacional is the international syndication and distribution arm of the US-based Telemundo and Universo networks. Its international assets include the pay TV channel Telemundo Internacional, which is carried in more than 20 countries in Latin America, and the Telemundo channel in Africa.

Luis Silberwasser will continue to lead the company’s US networks Telemundo and Universo as president of Telemundo Networks. Both executives will continue to report to Cesar Conde, chairman of NBCU International Group and NBCUTE.

Santana joined NBCUTE in 2007 after Telemundo acquired the operating assets of its foreign distributor Tepuy International, where Santana was president and CEO.

“Marcos brings decades of experience in content development, production and distribution. In this broader role, he is uniquely positioned to propel and expand our content creation capabilities worldwide,” said Conde.
