Telefe catches Viacom, Cablevisión copro

Atrapa a un Ladrón is based on Alfred Hitchcock movie To Catch a Thief

Argentinian broadcaster Telefe has picked up a drama series coproduced by Viacom International Studios (VIS) and Latin American pay TV operator Cablevisión.

Based on Alfred Hitchcock’s 1955 movie of the same name, To Catch a Thief (Atrapa a un Ladrón) tells the story of a reformed thief seeking the person who has been committing crimes under his name. The 10-part series has been filmed in Barcelona and Buenos Aires.

The show is the first original coproduction between Viacom International Media Networks around the world and VIS. All episodes will be made available on Cablevisión’s streaming service Cablevisión Flow, as well as airing on Telefe. Spanish producer Javier Olivares created and produced the project.

Guillermo Borensztein, VP of content sales and coproductions at VIS, said: “We are very happy to complete our fourth project in the last two years with Cablevisión Flow. This alliance allows us to contribute to the development and production of the highest-quality content in Argentina while empowering and complementing VIS in a cross-platform experience.”
