TechTV's Wangberg retires at 30 million

TechTV chairman and ceo Larry Wangberg has celebrated the cable network hitting the 30m subscriber milestone by stepping down.

Since joining the company in 1997 to build and launch the network, Wangberg has been instrumental in TechTV's significant growth.

In the past year TechTV has inked distribution agreements with several MSOs and DTH satellite operators, pushing the amount of territories now receiving the channel's programming to over 70. Recent deals with Comcast Cable, Time Warner Cable, Charter Communications have also helped the network hit the 30m mark.

As well as continuing to serve on TechTV's board of directors, Wangberg will lead the search for his own replacement while also pursuing what TechTV calls {his many other interests{.
