TeamTO hires former Guru exec

French entertainment studio TeamTO has appointed the former executive VP of content and strategy at Canadian animation producer Guru Studio to its senior creative team.

Mary Bredin, who left Toronto-based Guru earlier this year, has joined TeamTO in the newly created role of creative development producer.

Bredin will focus on “finding truly unique, up-and-coming talent for TeamTO’s extensive development slate, with an emphasis on telling original stories from unconventional points of view,” the company said.

The exec, who spent a decade with Justin Time producer Guru, will work with TeamTO’s senior VP of development and production, Corinne Kouper, in the role. The pair first worked together 10 years ago on Disney’s first CG preschool show Rolie Polie Olie.

Bredin has previously held roles at Nelvana in Canada and spent nine years at Disney in London, where she headed programming and acquisitions for the worldwide team. She has also worked for French pay TV channel Canal+ and Telefilm Canada.

Paris-based TeamTO is behind shows such as Angelo Rules and Oscar’s Oasis and also has offices in LA and Beijing.
