TBS adheres to Arthur’s Law

Arthurs Gesetz was the first original from TNT Comedy in Germany

Turner-owned US comedy network TBS has picked up the rights to adapt German comedy series Arthur’s Law (Arthurs Gesetz).

The comedy was the first original production from its sister network TNT Comedy in Germany. It follows unemployed anti-hero Arthur Ahnepol who, stuck in an unfulfilling marriage and bored, devises a plan to kill his wife and start a new life with his lover.

TBS has acquired both the format and finished tape rights and plans to develop its own version as well as air the original with subtitles.

The original show was produced by TNT Comedy and German outfit Goodfriends. Goodfriends’ Moritz von der Groeben and Nataly Kudiabor exec produce alongside Turner’s Anke Greifeneder and Hannes Heyelmann, MD of Turner Central and Eastern Europe. It was penned by lead writer Benjamin Gutsche, Ceylan Yildirim and Sebastian Bleyl.
