Talpa to serve Restaurant That Makes Mistakes

The Restaurant That Makes Mistakes was produced by CPL for Channel 4

Dutch broadcaster Talpa TV has picked up the rights to UK social experiment reality format The Restaurant That Makes Mistakes from Red Arrow Studios International (RASI).

The Dutch show will feature a diverse group of people living with dementia, of different ages and with different stages of the disease, as they help run a restaurant with the guidance of a successful chef.

Over a five-week period, the group take on numerous roles within the restaurant including cooking, serving drinks and taking orders – all with a dementia expert on hand to advise.

The new production has been commissioned by Talpa TV and will be produced by MGM-backed producer Concept Street for SBS6 in early 2020. The UK original aired on Channel 4 in June and featured Michelin-starred chef Josh Eggleton.

RASI has also licensed the format to Belgian production company Roses Are Blue.

The Restaurant That Makes Mistakes was originally developed and produced by Red Arrow Studios’ UK subsidiary CPL Productions, the prodco behind Old People’s Home For 4 Year Olds, and WPP-owned Motion Content Group.
