Talkback formats go global

Australia's Seven Network is lining up its own version of UK producer Talkback's BBC2 lifestyle show The Life Laundry, after a licence deal with Fremantle Media.

The format – in which members of the public de-junk their homes and lives, under guidance from lifestyle gurus – will arrive on Seven later this year. A third season of the show returns to BBC2 this autumn.

Fremantle is also prepping a number of other new formats from production subsidiary Talkback for the international market. The Channel 4 Jamie Oliver show Jamie's Kitchen is being pushed as a reality chef talent format, while the BBC2 find-the-fibber gameshow Liar is also doing the rounds.

French network TF6, a joint-venture between TF1 and M6, recently launched its own version of Liar and Middle Eastern satcaster MBC has picked up the format and is currently producing its own show out of Cairo. A German network is also piloting Liar.

Meanwhile, Talkback has secured a second season renewal for Liar from BBC2. Fremantle is also shopping Talkback's new quiz Distraction, which has a UK net attached, and Date Squad, which is to be adapted for US cable.

Other new formats from Fremantle include Blu Entertainment's new dating show The One & Only, which aired on TV3 Denmark last September, and the CBS talent show Star Search.
