Télé-Québec to air Cinar's Zoboomafoo

In Canada, Télé-Québec has picked up all 65 episodes of Cinar's pre-school show Zoboomafoo, for an airing this September.

The show, a wildlife programme for pre-schoolers, is hosted by an eponymous animated lemur and friends alongside live-action humans.

{We were seduced by Zoboomafoo's humour, fast pace, originality and its creators' knowledge and love of animals,{ said Télé-Québec's director of acquisitions Alain Ergas.

Zoboomafoo is produced by Cinar, in association with PBS and the Kratt Brothers Company. It already airs on CBC, TVO, Knowledge Network and Tree House TV in Canada, as well as daily on PBS Kids in the US, plus some 83 other territories.

Some eight new episodes of the show are to debut on PBS Kids this autumn. On May 12, the show won a daytime Emmy award for outstanding directing.
