12 Monkeys will end with season four

Syfy in the US has ordered a fourth and final season of drama 12 Monkeys and will air its forthcoming third run over three nights.

The third season of the Atlas Entertainment-produced show will air on three consecutive nights from Friday May 19, with the fourth and final season due in 2018.

The NBCUniversal-owned network has also ordered a third season of sci-fi series The Expanse. The 13-episode run is being produced by US firm Alcon Television Group and will premiere in 2018.
