Syfy renews drama pair

US cablenet Syfy has renewed its sci-fi series Dark Matter and Killjoys for second runs.

Dark Matter, based on the Dark Horse graphic novel, averaged 1.8 million viewers in its first season on Syfy. The show will return for 13 episodes next year.

Meanwhile, Killjoys, which follows the adventures of a trio of bounty hunters, will run return for 10 episodes.

Dark Matter is produced by Prodigy Pictures and is exec produced by writers/creators Joseph Mallozzi and Paul Mullie, as well as Jay Firestone and Vanessa Piazza.

Killjoys is produced by Temple Street Productions in association with Space and Syfy.
