SVT, ABC capture Canuck kids’ content

According to Kids has been picked up by ABC Oz and Hopster

Broadcasters and platforms around the world, including SVT in Sweden and Australia’s ABC, have picked up children’s content from CBC & Radio-Canada Distribution, the sales arm of the Canadian pubcaster.

Swedish pubcaster SVT has picked up the first season of live-action series Marika, which is produced by Telefiction for Radio-Canada and distributed in collaboration with Rocket Launch Media.

Australian broadcaster ABC, meanwhile, has acquired two seasons of CBC Kids comedy series According to Kids, which has also been picked up by children’s app Hopster.

US streaming platform Toon Goggles has acquired animated series Li’l Doc, which has also been picked up by Intervista in Corsica, Canadian streamer Kidoodle, Canada’s Knowledge Network, US educational video platform Adventure 2 Learning, and Notio Media for its Mini Me platform in Bangladesh, Africa and the US. The show is produced by Gala Prod for TFO.

Knowledge Network, Adventure 2 Learning, Toon Goggles and Kidoodle have also taken That’s Cool!, produced by Toast Studio for Radio-Canada, as has Learning 360 in the US.

Adventure 2 Learning and Kidoodle have additionally taken YOUniverse, produced by Victory Arts, while the former has picked up A Small World, produced by Toast for Radio-Canada, and the latter has acquired I Love My Monster and Alphabet Stories, both produced by Victory Arts.

Toon Goggles has also bought live-action show Thrillusionists, produced by 5’7” Films for CBC Kids, while Learning 360 has acquired Small Talk.

Meanwhile, CBC & Radio-Canada Distribution has added to its slate through a number of acquisitions, including Super Agent Jon le Bon!, a 39×7’ animation based on the comic book character of the same name. The series is produced by Happy Camper Media, with Zodiak Kids also distributing.

Other acquisitions include animated series Moose, inspired by the books by Canadian children’s author Robert Munsch and produced by Muse for Radio-Canada, and Zamzoom, a 21×4’ space-themed show produced by Rotating Planet for TVO and TFO.

CBC & Radio-Canada Distribution has also added Amos Daragon to its slate. The animated series is an adaptation of the Canadian comic book by Bryan Perro and is currently in production. Iceworks Animation produces for Radio-Canada.
