Survivor found in Germany

The Australian version of Survivor

MIPCOM: RTL-owned German channel Vox has become the latest international broadcaster to commission a local version of Banijay’s classic reality format Survivor.

Banijay Productions Germany will produce the new version for Vox and its catch-up service TV Now after the producer’s parent company, Banijay Group, picked up the long-running CBS format earlier this year.

The show places 18 people on a desert island for 40 days, splits them into two tribes and makes them battle it out through a series of challenges. It has aired for 37 seasons in the US and has been adapted around the world.
