Super RTL visits StoryZoo for educational duo

MIPTV: German kids’ channel Super RTL has picked up a pair of children’s educational animated series from Dutch prodco and distributor StoryZoo.

StoryZoo Adventure teaches children about different zoo animals

The deal covers StoryZoo in the School (40×5’) and StoryZoo Adventure (13×11’), targeting three- to eight-year-olds.

Both series will launch on Super RTL’s Toggolino app and SVoD platform Kividoo from the beginning of May.

StoryZoo in the School encourages children to develop vocabulary through play, learning new words and topics with Flashcard videos. StoryZoo Adventure reveals facts about different zoo animals, such as why a giraffe’s skin is patterned or why beavers have yellow teeth, through a mix of games and real-life videos.

The series relies on three central animal characters, an English-speaking parrot called Pepper English, a monkey called Toby and Bax the bear. It also introduces children to English, with German phrases spoken by the monkey and the bear, repeated by the parrot in English.

Super RTL’s CEO Claude Schmit described the series as both entertaining and educational, making them an ideal match for Toggolino and Kividoo.

StoryZoo was founded in 2015 by Johannes Gropp, a former Sony Pictures Entertainment and 2waytraffic International executive.
