Super adds COO in rejig

Canadian network Super Channel has bolstered its senior team with a string of appointments, naming a new chief operating officer (COO) in the process.

Donald WL McDonald, previously executive director of finance and administration, has been appointed COO and will report to CEO Charles R Allard.

McDonald will lead the day-to-day operations and strategic direction of the company, while continuing to oversee its corporate finance and accounting functions.

Meanwhile, Darcy JW Hnatiuk, on loan from Super Channel’s partner CRA Investments, has been appointed general manager, providing advisory support to McDonald.

He will continue with his duties as general manager of Super Channel’s sister entity, Touch Canada Broadcasting.

Melissa Kajpust, head of creative development, has had her role expanded with the additional title of director of programming, international distributors and Canadian pre-sales.

She will acquire content from distributors from the US and around the world, as well as co-ordinating Canadian development projects to lead into Canadian pre-Sales.

In addition, Troy Wassill, previously programme manager, has been appointed to director of programming, domestic distributors and sports; while Gateway Casinos exec Katie Lee joins the company in the newly created position of director of consumer marketing.

Dan Rudolph, previously director of programme services and on-demand, sees scheduling added to his responsibilities in his newly expanded role as director of programme services and content scheduling.

Kimberley Ball, publicity manager, sees her role expanded to director of media relations and sponsorship.
