STV hands Armspach new drama role

Scotland-based indie STV Productions has continued the recent overhaul of its management structure by promoting an executive to head of drama development.

Claire Armspach

Claire Armspach, who has been with STV since 2011, is stepping up to the newly created position to bolster the company’s scripted output.

The move follows the commission of The Victim, a four-part series for BBC1 starring Kelly Macdonald, John Hannah and James Harkness.

Armspach was also involved with Elizabeth is Missing, another BBC1 commission, this time based on the best-selling novel by Emma Healey.

Prior to joining STV she worked at World Productions as a script editor and producer and was on the drama team at the BBC where her credits included Holby City and Waking the Dead.

Last year, STV signed an exclusive deal with former ITV Studios and BBC drama producer Elaine Collins to bolster head of drama Sarah Brown’s team.

More recently, long serving MD Alan Clements left the firm amidst a strategic review and new heads of daytime and popular factual development were named.
