Studio 100, M4E pick up Kukuli

Kukuli will be available on YouTube worldwide except in Turkey

German media company Studio 100 Media and its kids subsidiary M4E have picked up digital distribution rights to an animated show fronted by a musical monkey.

Kukuli (21×6’30”) is produced by Turkish indie Fauna Production and will be launched on YouTube worldwide by the German firms excluding Turkey, where Fauna handles the brand.

As well as taking the English-language rights, Studio 100 and M4E will have the option to produce and distribute local versions of the series. The show has previously been sold to Turkish kids’ broadcaster TRT Çocuk.

The show follows a monkey as he sings, dances and plays the ukulele and its local YouTube channel has notched up more than 500 million views.

Each episode runs to 4’30” plus an original song set to animation, making a total of 6’30”. Fauna Production is currently producing a new 26×6’30” season of the show.

Studio 100 acquired M4E early last year.
