Studio Hari starts up distribution arm

French production company Studio Hari has launched an international distribution division and has brought in a Gaumont Animation exec as its head of sales.

Hari International will deliver the firm’s series to a worldwide audience from its headquarters in Paris.

New sales head Adeline Tormo joins the company from Gaumont, where she was VP of international sales for eight years.

“Hari International’s objective is to build global and integrated brand, sales and marketing strategies by ensuring the optimum exploitation of all the TV, video and merchandising rights,” said Josselin Charier, who co-founded Studio Hari with Antoine Rodelet.

“It is a major step in our business development. The creation of Hari International will give us the opportunity to integrate all the activities related to our creations, from the artistic development to the commercial exploitation.”

The first title Tormo will be offering is CGI comedy Grizzy and The Lemmings (78×7’). The series follows the adventures of Grizzy, big as a bear and just as dumb, who is challenged by the even stupider Lemmings. It has been picked up by Turner worldwide and France Télévisions.
