Studio 100 Media names CEO

The former head of global distribution at Europe’s Studio 100 Media has returned to oversee the firm and its subsidiaries after spending just over a year at YouTube.

Martin Krieger

Martin Krieger led the global content distribution team at Studio 100 between 2012 and 2018, when he left to join Google-owned YouTube as manager of kids’ and family content partnerships.

Krieger has now re-joined as CEO of Studio 100 Media and subsidiaries Studio 100 Film, m4e and the newly formed Studio Isar Animation in Munich.

He will also be responsible for the global commercial business of Studio 100 International, including content distribution, licensing and consumer products for the entire Studio 100 slate and some third-party IP.

Krieger’s appointment was announced by Hans Bourlon, co-founder and CEO of Studio 100 Group. It comes after Studio 100 Group appointed Barbara Stephen as CEO of content at its international arm, based in Australia, earlier this year.

Stephen, who is also CEO of Studio 100-owned Flying Bark Productions in Sydney, oversees development, investment and animation production across the company’s creative businesses.

“Martin and I established an excellent working relationship during his time as head of global distribution and I’m thrilled to be collaborating with him in our new international leadership team working on Studio 100’s global expansion,” said Stephen.

Krieger added: “My leadership will be based on fostering inclusion and diversity to further develop our strong culture. It is through diverse perspectives that we are able to meet today’s audience expectations and anticipate the market needs for tomorrow.”
