Stoopid Buddy goes global

MIPCOM: Stoopid Buddy Stoodios, the US prodco helmed by the producers of animated series Robot Chicken, is launching an international sales and distribution operation.

The California-based animation studio, founded by actor Seth Green, John Harvatine IV, Matthew Senreich and Eric Towner, will introduce its properties and projects to the international marketplace for the first time during Mipcom.

The news comes just week after the studio teamed with video website Vimeo to bring an online, stop-motion animation course to aspiring animators.

Stoopid Buddy Stoodios is also behind Mattel’s WWE Slam City, L/Studio’s Friendship All-Stars, and MAD’s Spy vs. Spy, and has attracted a portfolio of partners such as Disney, Cartoon Network/Adult Swim, Nickelodeon, Warner Bros and Sony, to name a few.

“Mipcom is the natural international launching pad for us, and one that we targeted at the company’s inception two years ago,” said Harvatine IV.

“We knew we had to first establish ourselves in our home market before expanding globally. Having proven ourselves domestically, now is the right time for us to broaden our footprint and work with new partners outside of the US to bring Stoopid Buddy content to life in territories around the world.”
