Starz gets ready for The Gloaming

The Gloaming was created by Victoria Madden (The Kettering Incident)

Lionsgate-owned media company Starz in the US has picked up Australian crime series The Gloaming, which it will debut on all its platforms on March 21.

The eight-part series follows two detectives who solve crimes with the help of ghosts trapped between the worlds of the living and the dead. Filmed entirely on the island of Tasmania, the show was written and created by showrunner Victoria Madden (The Kettering Incident).

Madden’s Sweet Potato Films, John Molloy’s 2 Johns Productions and ABC Signature, a Disney Television Studios company, coproduce the series, which debuted on Australian SVoD platform Stan last year. Funding for a second season was announced last May.

Greg McLean, Keli Lee, Nick Forward, Jon Adgemis and Michael Gudinski exec produce, with Molloy and Fiona McConaghy producing.
