Squish squashed into Spain, Israel, Korea

Squish is produced by Cottonwood Media and Planeta Junior

Spanish kids’ channel Neox and a new Israeli SVoD joint venture are among those to have acquired French animated series Squish from Federation Entertainment-owned Cottonwood Media.

Based on the graphic books by Jennifer and Matthew Holm, slapstick series Squish is produced by Cottonwood and Planeta Junior, part of the Grupo Planeta/De Agostini Group. Federation Kids & Family is distributing the series with Planeta Junior.

Israel’s Kidz, the country’s new SVoD JV between local networks HOT and Yes, has picked up the show, which was acquired by fellow Israeli operator Hop TV last September.

The deal with Atresmedia-owned Neox, meanwhile, includes a coproduction agreement, under which the latter will act as coproducer of the show in Spain.

Korea’s Tooniverse has also licensed Squish, which follows everyday school kids, looking at their friendships, their parents and their efforts to fit in – except the kids are not humans, but amoebas.
