South Korea picks Gusto’s Apple

A is for Apple

Cooking format A is for Apple

Canadian culinary broadcaster and producer Gusto has sold one of its original series to South Korean channel UMAX.

Gusto Worldwide Media, the Ottawa-based firm’s production and sales arm, has shopped A is for Apple (30×30′) to the Asian territory.

The series is a cooking challenge format in which three young chefs improvise recipes inspired by a particular letter of the alphabet. Each week the chefs choose a letter at random and go shopping for two ingredients accordingly, often leading to bizarre combinations such as apples and anchovies.

UMAX launched in April 2014 as the first dedicated 4K channel in the world and is owned and operated by Cable TV VOD Corporation.
