Sony’s Kix to become Pop Max

Freaktown will be among Pop Max’s exclusive programming

Sony Pictures Television Networks (SPTN) in the UK is rebranding its children’s channel Kix ahead of a relaunch later this month.

Kix will be renamed Pop Max on August 30 on Freeview, Sky and Freesat in the UK, joining fellow SPTN networks Pop and Tiny Pop.

SPTN described the new network as “a cheeky comedy channel targeting six- to 10-year-old boys, offering a mix of engaging storytelling, high-octane action and lots of laughs.”

Its line-up of exclusive titles includes Beyblade Burst, Winston Steinburger & Sir Dudley Ding Dong, Freaktown, Pirate Express and Clay Kids.

“The rebranding of Kix to Pop Max will allow us to strengthen the relationship in viewers’ minds between our portfolio of kids’ channels and our first-class children’s programming,” said Kate Marsh, executive VP of Western Europe and international networks at Sony Pictures Television.
