Sky’s Roach reaches Drama Summit

CONTENT LONDON: Cameron Roach, commissioning editor for drama at Sky, has joined the line-up for the International Drama Summit, part of C21’s Content London, between November 29 and December 1.

Roach will join Anne Mensah, head of drama at Sky, in a controller session at the event to discuss drama strategy and commissioning at the network, whose forthcoming titles include Britannia, Tin Star, Riviera and Jamestown.

He joined Sky drama as commissioning editor in 2013 and had a spell as acting head of drama while Anne Mensah was on sabbatical. He now works with Mensah across the satcaster’s slate.

Roach’s previous roles include executive producer on Shed Productions’ Waterloo Road, of which he oversaw 50 episodes, and producer on Kudos series Life on Mars. He has also worked in development at Tiger Aspect Productions, Shed Productions and BBC Productions.

The commissioner began his TV career in script and series editing on long-running series such as Casualty, before landing his first producing job on season six of the hit prison drama Bad Girls for Shed Productions. He went on to produce two series of Footballers’ Wives and also developed and exec produced ITV2’s first ever drama, the spin-off Footballers’ Wives: Extra Time, which ran for two series.
