Sky’s Riviera stretches to Greece

Greek pay TV broadcaster Cosmote TV has acquired the local rights to Sky Atlantic’s forthcoming thriller Riviera.

Riviera is based on an idea by U2’s former manager Paul McGuinness

The 10×60’ drama is being shopped internationally by the satcaster’s sales arm Sky Vision and will now air on Cosmote immediately after its June 16 premiere in the UK.

The CosmoteCinema4HD channel will air the show, which is produced by Archery Pictures and Primo Productions, at 22.00 on Fridays.

Created by Academy Award-winning writer Neil Jordan (The Crying Game, The Borgias), Riviera is based on an idea by former U2 manager Paul McGuinness.

It is set in the South of France and stars Julia Stiles as an American art curator who discovers hidden secrets about the life she shared with her billionaire husband after he is killed in a mysterious yacht explosion.

Episodes will also be available to view on catch-up service Cosmote Replay TV for 48 hours after the broadcast, and on-demand via library service Cosmote TV Plus for a year.

Cosmote, formerly known as OTE TV, is the Greek home to international dramas including Billions, Taken, Peaky Blinders and Taboo.
