Sky Vision preps crime spree for MipTV

Famous & Fighting Crime comes from Blast! Films

The production and distribution arm of European satcaster Sky is heading to MipTV next month with a slate of true crime programming.

Headlining the factual slate is Famous & Fighting Crime (4×60’), a returnable factual entertainment series that invites celebrities to train as real special constables before they hit the streets. It is produced by Blast! Films for Channel 4.

Another Blast! series on the slate is Forensics: The Real CSI (3×60’), which charts the journey of individual pieces of evidence from the moment they are discovered at the crime scene through to their microscopic analysis at the specialist laboratories, showing the pivotal role the findings play in each investigation. It was produced for BBC2 in the UK.

Inside Midlands Prison (4×60’) offers access to the inmates of Ireland’s biggest prison. It is produced by Midas Productions for Virgin Media Television.

Murder For My Man (25×60’) features stories of women who have been arrested for crimes committed in the name of love. Jupiter Entertainment produced the show for US cablenet TV One.

Killer (40×60’) is a true crime, closed-episode series that shares stories about people consumed with vengeance. Jupiter also produced this series, this time for Sky Pick in the UK and HLN in the US.

Rounding off the slate is the second season of Murder, Mystery & My Family (10×60’), a true crime series in which members of the public take an emotional journey to clear the name of a relative executed for murder. The show is a Chalkboard TV production for BBC1.
