Sky taps Schwimmer for Intelligence

Nick Mohammed and Friends star David Schwimmer in Sky’s Intelligence

Sky in the UK has commissioned a workplace comedy series from Nick Mohammed starring and executive produced by Friends star David Schwimmer.

Six-part series Intelligence is set in the UK’s Government Communications Headquarters, described as “a weedier, geekier, more bureaucratic version of MI5 and MI6.”

Mohammed (The Martian, Christopher Robin) will write, star and executive produce the series, in which Schwimmer plays a power-hungry, maverick NSA agent who has to work with an inept and tactless computer analyst (Mohammed) to tackle cybercrime.

It is a coproduction with Peter Fincham and Tim Hincks’ production company Expectation and Dark Harbor Stories and will be distributed internationally by Sky Vision.

The show was commissioned by Jon Mountague, Sky’s head of comedy, and Zai Bennett, director of programming for Sky Entertainment UK and Ireland. The commissioning editor is Morwenna Gordon for Sky. Nerys Evans, Expectation’s creative director for comedy, is the executive producer for Expectation.

“Nick Mohammed has written a brilliantly funny comedy series in Intelligence. David and Nick are hilarious together and so perfectly represent the special relationship between our two great nations,” said Mountague.
