Sky plans a second Heist with Shine TV

The new season of The Heist will air date in 2020 on Sky1

Sky in the UK has commissioned a second season of its factual entertainment show The Heist.

Made by Shine TV, the Endemol Shine Group-owned prodco behind Channel 4’s Hunted and The Island, The Heist sees ordinary citizens of a small town attempt to commit a perfect heist in order to win a cash prize.

It was commissioned for Sky1 by Phil Edgar Jones, director of Sky Arts and head of entertainment, and Shirley Jones, commissioning editor, Sky Arts and entertainment.

Tim Whitwell is creative director, Matt Bennett is the executive producer, Tom Hutchings series editor, Jo Locke series producer and Lucy Curtis senior producer.

Filming will commence in the summer of 2019 with an air date in 2020 on Sky1 and streaming service Now TV.

“So many people thought they could do better than the thieves and easily outwit the detectives, so we’re throwing down the gauntlet and calling for the local people of Northumberland to join in for round two in this battle of cops versus robbers,” said Jones.
