Sky picks out more Monkey Life

Pick, the free-to-air channel operated by Sky in the UK, has ordered a further two seasons of wildlife show Monkey Life.

Monkey Life looks at a rescue centre in Dorset

The two 20×30′ series will be produced by Primate Planet Productions, taking the total season count to 12.

The UK broadcaster has also renewed its rights to 50 episodes of the show, which follows the day-to-day lives of apes and their human carers at the world’s largest ape- and monkey-rescue centre in Dorset.

The new seasons, which are in production, will air in 2018 and 2019 and are sold by TCB Media Rights.

Sky has also picked up a package of TCB factual programming for its Real Lives channel, including Court Justice (10×30′), while CBS Reality in the UK has added 150 episodes of Bondi Rescue. Both shows are from Australia’s CJZ.

Elsewhere, Discovery Quest has taken season three of WAG TV’s pop science series What on Earth? (20×60’).

In related news, TCB has rejigged its sales team, with Mem Bakar now joining CEO Paul Heaney to help handle domestic sales.

Bakar, who joined TCB in June 2014, will continue to handle the distributor’s business in Nordics, Asia and the UK.
