Sky Kids, Aardman mould more Morph

The Epic Adventures of Morph reunites the Morph characters

Sky Kids is set to air a series featuring the classic claymation comic character Morph, produced by UK studio Aardman during the pandemic.

The Epic Adventures of Morph (5×15′) has been shot using clay and stop-frame animation without dialogue at the Aardman studios in Bristol, where production was able to re-start in July.

The first 10 episodes will be available on Sky Kids across all Sky platforms, including Sky Q, Sky+, the Sky Kids app and the Now TV Kids Pass, from November 9.

The series will see Morph and his sidekick Chas, reunited with their old friends Delilah, Grandmorph and the Very Small Creatures, almost 40 years after they first appeared together on TV.

The launch comes after Sky began its move into original children’s production with a series featuring the character in 2016.

Lucy Murphy, Sky’s director of kids content, said: “Morph has been bringing a bit of cheeky fun to our screens for decades and in these times of uncertainty the clay genius of The Epic Adventures of Morphis the perfect way for families to watch and laugh together with longer episodes of ever more inventive and exciting escapades.”

Merlin Crossingham, director of Morph, said: “My fantastic team at Aardman have tackled some serious challenges since the pandemic hit half-way through production. They rose to the challenge with skill and professionalism, putting their hearts into creating this latest series of Morph.”
