Sky, HBO line up Julia Davis comedy

European satcaster Sky has teamed up with US cablenet HBO to coproduce a new original from comedy actress Julia Davis.

Sally4Ever (7×30’) is written and directed by Davis and stars Catherine Shepherd as a woman who, on the night her partner asks her to marry him, turns her comfortable life into turmoil by having an affair with a bohemian actress and musician, played by Davis.

The series, which will debut on Sky1 and streaming service Now TV in the UK this year, is being made for Sky and HBO by production companies Hush Ho and Various Artists. It was ordered Jon Mountague, head of Sky Comedy.

Davis is the award-winning creator of comedies including Camping for Sky Atlantic and Nighty Night for the BBC.

In related news, Sky and HBO have also renewed their dystopian drama Westworld for a third season. Based on the Michael Crichton film, the TV series is produced by Kilter Films and Bad Robot Productions in association with Warner Bros Television.
