Sky Crime meets The Real Manhunter

True crime pay TV network Sky Crime in the UK has acquired a 10-part factual series on the work of prolific UK detective Colin Sutton.

Colin Sutton

The Real Manhunter is produced by UK indie Revelation Films, which has an exclusive agreement with Sutton for all non-scripted projects.

During a 30-year police career, Sutton led many of the UK’s highest-profile murder investigations. Of the 37 murder cases he investigated, 35 were solved with convictions.

He was recently portrayed by Martin Clunes in the ITV drama Manhunt, which has just been commissioned for a second season (Manhunt II: The Night Stalker).

The series revisits cases led by Sutton and explores everything from the crime itself through to the breakthrough moment when the suspect was identified and arrested.

UK distributor Abacus Media Rights (AMR) brokered the deal with Sky Crime where it will premiere early next year.

AMR is shopping the series, which is also available in 6×60’ and 2×90’ formats, internationally and has already secured sales with AMC Networks’ streaming service Acorn TV in the US and Canada and the Seven Network in Australia.

The series is executive produced by Tony Carne and Trevor Drane at Revelation Films.
