Sky’s Taylor resurfaces at Mentorn

The former head of factual at UK satcaster Sky has resurfaced as MD of Tinopolis-owned UK prodco Mentorn Media.

Celia Taylor

Celia Taylor will be responsible for expanding the company’s programme slate, which includes series such as Robot Wars, Question Time, Traffic Cops and Inside London Fire Brigade.

Reporting to Tinopolis director of content David Mortimer, Taylor will focus on factual, factual entertainment and entertainment programming for the UK and international market.

She is taking over responsibility for Mentorn from Jonathan Hewes, who will focus solely on his role as CEO of fellow Tinopolis-owned prodco Pioneer.

Taylor was head of non-scripted commissioning at Sky prior to her departure last November. Her credits there included Ross Kemp’s Extreme World and Menton-produced An Idiot Abroad.

Prior to that she was director of programmes at Virgin Media, and before that a commissioning editor for factual at the BBC.

Taylor said: “Mentorn is one of the TV industry’s most respected production companies and I am incredibly excited about working with the hugely talented team to further build on the success they have had to date.”

Mortimer added: “Celia is one of the most talented and well-liked TV executives I’ve had the pleasure of working with in the past, so I know she’ll be the perfect fit for Mentorn.”
