Ludovic Simoens becomes VP of transactional business with a remit across Sky’s VoD services in Germany, reporting to Malte Probst, who oversees programming and Sky’s VoD business in the country.

Simoens, who took up the role this week, joins from Paramount where he had worked for nearly a decade, having previously worked at TV5 in Germany.

Meanwhile, Christian Asanger becomes VP of entertainment channels, reporting to film and entertainment chief Marcus Ammon.

He was most recently creative director at Sony in Germany and before that worked for Warner Bros International Television Production, with his credits including Germany’s Next Top Model and The Bachelor.

Elke Walthelm, exec VP of content for Sky in Germany, said the duo’s “great expertise and experience” would provide “significant impetus” for programme development.

Sky’s German operations are overseen by Carsten Schmidt, who replaced former CEO Brian Sullivan last year. Sullivan left the German broadcaster to join parent company 21st Century Fox.
