Sime resurfaces at Zodiak

Zodiak Rights has appointed a former executive from Turkey-based distributor Global Agency to its entertainment division.

Andrew Sime has been named as VP of entertainment and will work with production companies owned by parent company Zodiak Media and third-party producers to identify and develop formats with international sales potential.

He will also oversee the distribution strategy of the shows and report to Barnaby Shingleton, head of entertainment at Zodiak Rights, the international distribution arm of Zodiak Media.

Sime was previously based in Amsterdam as head of acquisitions at Global Agency, a position he held for four years before leaving in September.

Prior to that he was research and acquisitions manager at 2waytraffic (now part of Sony), and also spent time with Endemol International. He will take up his new position later in the month.

Shingleton said Sime “comes with a huge amount of experience and knowledge around entertainment formats.”

His arrival follows Zodiak Rights’ appointment this month of BBC Worldwide exec Caroline Torrance, who is joining the firm to head its international scripted division.
