Sierra/Affinity adds TV sales

Feature film producer-distributor Sierra/Affinity is moving into television sales for the first time after partnering with the prodco behind NBC’s forthcoming pirate drama Crossbones.

Sierra/Affinity’s international TV distribution business, which will be launched at Mipcom next month, will be led by president and CEO Nick Meyer and chief operating officer Marc Schaberg.

Meyer was previously president of Lionsgate International where he oversaw Mad Men and Weeds.

Sierra/Affinity’s move into TV comes after it forged a partnership with Georgeville Television, with whom they will distribute and develop new projects.

Georgeville was launched in May by Motion Picture Capital’s CEO Leon Clarance and independent producer Marc Rosen.

Their slate already includes NBC’s pirate series Crossbones and a 13-episode order from Syfy for a reboot of classic BBC series Blake’s 7.

It has also secured a 13-episode order from ABC for an untitled pandemic thriller it is producing with Overbook Entertainment and Studio JMS.
